I had a really great conversation with a friend about his business and without him telling me directly, I realized the biggest reason for his success. He had a vision and he didn't settle for less in order to create it. He created his vision with the most successful version in mind and the end product being exactly what he wants. He never once sold himself short or doubted himself in the process.
This doesn't even have to be related to business or your career. Maybe this relates to your performance in the gym. Maybe to your weight loss efforts. I think a lot of us fear the unknown and fear doing something different. But are we selling ourselves short by doing this? He dreamed big, he knew exactly what he wanted and took the action to get it. He didn't settle for less, he didn't sell himself short, and he took pride in his work.
If your goal is to really lose weight and change your eating habits you need to have a vision of yourself succeeding. Outline exactly what you need to do in order to lose weight. Maybe this means planning meals ahead of time, or avoiding a situation where you are forced to eat poorly.
We all have big dreams and goals for ourselves but sometimes I think we fail because we are afraid of the journey towards success. We don't believe in ourselves so we don't try. Risk is scary and I am a creature of habit and routine. But you can't get anywhere in life without risk. So are you selling yourself short if you never take that jump? Never try something new or pursue something frightening?
Give it some thought. Create a vision for your life, your goals, your dreams, and don't be afraid to reach out of your comfort zone to pursue them.
